Bio

Mesa is an international artist who splits her time between Seattle, Washington DC, and wherever country she is currently making home. She specializes in clear visual communication of medical and scientific subject matter, in illustration, animation, and at times through the emotional art of photography.

Mesa holds a degree in Anthropological Science with a specialization in Anatomy and Archaeology from Stanford University, a Graduate Certificate in Natural Science Illustration from the University of Washington and an MA in Art as Applied to Medicine at Johns Hopkins Medical School.   Mesa has worked in family, event, and portrait photography, and promotional institutional images, and is trained in artifact and medical photography.

Mesa has illustrated for National Geographic, The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, The National Zoo and Aquarium, Clients at Academic institutions such as Stanford, Harvard, and many more. Her art has been exhibited in Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and her illustration has taken her around the world.
